Identifying your real strengths – what do you think your hard strengths and soft strenghts are? When are they relevant in the job application process? What do other people think your strengths are – are these the same? Considering the opportunities you have in terms of job and research positions. How much competition will you face if you apply for an advertised job? What about on spec applications? How many jobs are never advertised?

Writing a good cover letter. Which font should you use? Why? What about spacing? How important are the start and the end of the letter?

Optimizing your CV in English. What are the key differences between an English and a German CV? What is not allowed? Do you need a photo? Should you sign your CV?
