The aims of the workshop are:

  • to understand the peer review process, its different forms and its limitation

  • to learn what editors and reviewers expect from grant proposals and research articles

  • to deal with feedback and criticism in different cultures

 

Content

  • Definition of peer review

  •  Which skills are needed to master the peer review process?

  •  The different types of peer review

  •  Criteria checked by editors and reviewers for grant proposals and research articles

  •  Common reasons for rejection of grant proposals and research articles

  •  Giving and receiving feedback and criticism in Germany and across other cultures

 

Please note

During the workshop, participants can draft a cover letter for their next article. Therefore, before the workshop participants are asked to prepare the (preliminary) title of their next article.
