Objectives and Content

In this workshop, we’ll talk about the whys and hows of the cover letter. We’ll learn how to use simple tools to create a cover letter – or letter of interest – that stands out and helps you get an interview.

• What is the purpose of a cover letter and what will potential employers expect to see?
• What goes in the cover letter? What should I avoid? How do I know what to say and what to leave out?
• How do I use my cover letter skills to reach out to companies without posted positions?

Further Information

For workshops held online, participation is allowed under the following conditions: a working camera that is turned on and a microphone to allow active participation in discussions and group work. Headphones must also be used to protect other participants from office eavesdroppers.
