Content

Science is a tremendously cooperative undertaking – not just in the abstract sense that we’re building on other people’s work, but also in the concrete sense that our research projects may involve collaboration with others. One example of this is collaborative writing, where we team up with others to write a text together. As all forms of collaboration, however, collaborative writing comes with its own set of challenges: Who does what when, and why? Therefore, we will be looking at collaborative writing in detail: at the team-building aspect of co-authorship and at different techniques academics use in joint text production. Also, you will have the chance to reflect your past experience with collaborative writing and try out collaborative writing in a brief creative writing exercise.

Further Information

If there are free spots, we also allow postdocs to participate.

For workshops held online, participation is allowed under the following conditions: a working camera that is turned on and a microphone to allow active participation in discussions and group work. Headphones must also be used to protect other participants from office eavesdroppers. In this context, we would also like to refer to the rules for digital courses at Freie Universität Berlin (Code of Conduct).
