Before booking a workshop, please make sure that you can attend for the entire duration.

Participation

Doctoral researchers of all disciplines of the Berlin University Alliance (Freie Universität, Humboldt-Universität, Technische Universität und Charité).

Content

Many research projects – and most doctoral theses – begin with an exposé: a relatively short text that advertises the intended research project to the reader. As such, the exposé is a useful tool for us when we are in the process of getting the project started. Also, it has a clear strategic function, i.e. convincing a specific person or institution that the research project is promising and worth doing. In this workshop, we will be looking at the role of exposé in the overall writing process. You will explore and discuss the expectations the readers of your exposé might have. Also, you will have the chance to work both on the academic content and the work plan of your research project, which are the two main components of the exposé.

Further Information

If there are free spots, we also allow postdocs to participate.

For workshops held online, participation is allowed under the following conditions: a working camera that is turned on and a microphone to allow active participation in discussions and group work. Headphones must also be used to protect other participants from office eavesdroppers. In this context, we would also like to refer to the rules for digital courses at Freie Universität Berlin (Code of Conduct).
