The workshop provides a concise, application-oriented introduction to the fundamentals of business administration—ideal for anyone who has not formally studied it but will need to use it in a future job.
In addition to a general orientation toward typical economic ways of thinking, participants will gain insights specifically into the areas of corporate management, organization, accounting/controlling, and marketing.
The focus is on providing the essential knowledge needed when moving into the private sector, as well as on enabling participants to understand and situate company processes. At the same time, the content is increasingly relevant for scientific work—particularly in third-party funded projects or science management—and is essential preparation for anyone planning to start their own business.
The material is delivered in an engaging and practical manner. Participants actively try out and practice what they have learned, applying it in areas where they can already benefit during their current professional phase.

Many doctoral programs award credit points for participation in workshops and other qualification programs. One work unit (WU) corresponds to 45 minutes of workshop time. In some cases they might round up.
- 8 work units equal 0.5 credit points.
- For shorter workshops, credits are calculated proportionally based on the work units.
- Credit transfer requires the accumulation of a sufficient number of work units.
Example: Participation in two workshops of three hours each result in a total of 8 work units and therefore 0,5 credit points would be granted. As the transfer of credits is decided by the doctoral programs or doctoral offices, please contact them directly with any questions in this regard.
