For doctoral candidates and postdocs.

Do you have difficulties getting certain things done? Do you sometimes wonder why you “run around the whole day” and still feel like you got nothing done? And do classic planning techniques scare you off? This program is for those of us who are unsatisfied with their use of time and are looking for an individual solution for that. While you will get to know basic time and self management strategies, this is not about static “golden rules”. In the initial workshop, you will analyze your working habits and decide what you want to change. Together, we will empower each other to build our personal time competence. The following two sessions are iterations to help you putting your new skills into a sustainable practice, including a one-on-one session with the trainer.

An introductory full-day workshop will allow you to evaluate the way you plan your time and do your daily work. You will get to know alternative time and self management principles and will be supported to adjust them to your individual needs. This will help you to come up with solutions for your biggest time thieves. The first follow-up meeting is going to be a virtual one-on-one session. You will get time alone with your trainer to discuss your progress and obstacles. This session will take place via video or phone call and is open to whatever you want to achieve. The timing for it is flexible and will be set during the first workshop. The second follow-up session will bring the seminar group back together to embrace each other’s progress, learn from it and finalize your individual time management concept.

Individual assessments and exercises, input from trainer, peer support, virtual support, group discussions and activities.
